The weekend

I know it’s Tuesday and I’m a day off in posting about the weekend, but hey, it’s my blog I get to do what I want! On Sunday James (he doesn’t like to be referred to as hubby) and I woke up super early at 7am for the Long Beach flea market. After an ATM stop and a oh crap my oil is leaking check, we arrived safe and sound at 8:30. I had heard really good things about the LBFM, specifically that they are a lot of the same vendors from the Rose Bowl but prices are cheaper. So I stood in line for my ticket, yes there was a long line, with sheer excitement. But after strolling through a few aisles, I wasn’t seeing anything that interested me. Usually I find a bunch of stuff and have to force myself to edit what I want. James was a trooper and made sure we went down every aisle, I have to say it’s bigger than the Rose Bowl. I left disappointed. I was really hoping to score a chandelier and some art work. It’s sort of ironic- my last trip to the Rose Bowl I saw this chandelier I wanted bad but I didn’t have enough cash and this time I was fully prepared and there was nothing. The only thing I purchased was this Ballerina drawing. I thought the green was pretty and I felt really bad for the owner of the booth. She was beyond nice. James had a good time though, he said he saw things he’s never seen before. Below are some photographs of things that piqued his interest.

After flea market we took a little rest and in the evening we decided to take the dog for a long walk. Along the way we ran into these kids selling lemonade. They were trying to make money to buy an itouch. They really made our day, they were super cute and so funny! I asked them if they had change for a $5 and she said yes but when we walked up she pulled out her little ziplock bag of change (all quarters) and it didn’t seem like there was much in there. So the little boy goes, for two that will be a dollar so your change will be $3. I started laughing and said well our change would be $4. So the girl counted the quarters and handed me the change. I looked at it and told her, this is only $1.50. At this point James and I couldn’t control our laughter. Too cute! well, anyway we walked away with some pricey lemonade that unfortunately didn’t taste that great!

On our way back the sun was setting. It was so beautiful. The evening ended with a good friend of mine bringing over Santa Margherita wine and drunken goat cheese, my two favorite things. All in all it was a pretty fun weekend.
