Yellow Front Doors
Usually, I love red front doors. Any house with a red door I swoon over. But recently I have seen some images that are changing my mind towards yellow. It’s so fresh and upbeat, a splash of bright color.  With a quick coat of paint, you can completely change the look of your home. Add some coordinating gardening and it can be fabulous.

Video- Gift Wrapping a Box
I love anything to do with gift wrapping- bows, ribbon, papers and tags. I can literally spend a whole day at Paper Source so when I first saw this video posted on The Container Store website, I was intrigued but skeptical that it would really teach me anything new. I mean, how hard is gift wrapping, I’ve been doing it my whole life?! But it actually did- I love the tips on how to get crisp,...

Thom Filicia
Thom Filicia possesses it all, he is a true Design genius. His work is so detail oriented, no corner untouched. Not one bed wrinkle, crooked picture or furniture out of place. His photos are near perfect. I am always impressed by his work and his ability to design with so much range.

Carrier and Company
I stumbled across Carrier and Company a while back and really love their work. They are a husband and wife design team based on the East coast- primarily New York and Connecticut. Their work is so fascinating because somehow they manage to include so many styles into their designs- It’s fresh, modern, organic and warm. That’s a lot to accomplish! Take a look for yourself: ...

Driade Bar stool
I came across this barstool in an old Domino magazine and it really caught my attention. They described it as “a little boho”, which I couldn’t agree with more. Its available through the Driade website.

Dining Room Chandelier
I’m always on the hunt for great chandeliers. Right now I need (want) one for our dining room. I think the Jonathan Adler Meurice chandelier is the one, it screams “buy me! buy me!”

George Nelson Tripod Clock
I’ve always believed form and function are not mutually exclusive. No one better exemplifies that than Design Master George Nelson. His Brass clock is simple and classic. This is an authentic re-edition, fully authorized by the Nelson estate. www.vitra.com

Modern Litter Box
Finally a litter box you don’t need to hide. Modkat has come up with a modern design that looks great and is easy to clean. For those of us with cats, we know how dreadful the litter box can be. I still won’t be cleaning it (hubby’s duties) but I won’t mind looking at it!

These fabulous books have been recovered by Penguin Classics and designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. How beautiful these would look on a bookshelf. A great Christmas gift!

The Great Nate!
I love, love Nate Berkus. I first saw him on Oprah doing home makeovers. I was drawn to him by his charisma, but then pow, I witnessed the first makeover and almost fell off the sofa. It was magnificent. I remember it was a teeny tiny studio and he made it look glamorous, spacious and it was perfectly styled! Since then I’ve had a tiny obsession with him. Whenever I go to his website I am...

Ecovative Design
I’m always inspired by people who meld design with ecology. The founders of Ecovative Design have created ecocradle (packing product) and greensulate (insulation) out of mushrooms, thats right mushrooms! It is a completely non toxic, all natural material, that to top it all off is fire retardant and compostable in your own garden! What started as a school project has turned into a full...

Found It!
I saw this light fixture in the current issue of Lonny Magazine- it’s in the J.Crew fitting room in NYC. Saw it and wanted it! I found a very similar one at lamps plus.
