Moved
Hello! Well, after much deliberation I am moving my blog to www.studio-stella.blogspot.com. I’m still thinking of possibly updating both but we will see if that pans out. I may use tumblr as more of an inspiration board with just photography. Anyway, check out the new blog and let me know what you think! Thanks!

Ipad Case
I’ve been on the search for a cool ipad case, one that I don’t have to take it out of the case to use it (like the Smythe below). While doing my online research I came across a ton of Designer ipad cases- they cost almost as much as an ipad! Crazy! Are people actually buying these?? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for Designer handbags but I think this may be a little...

High-top Converse
Man, I really love this look worn by Rachel Bilson. Makes me happy because when I see all the pics of actresses wearing sky high heels to the grocery store I just want to gag. It’s like, really? You wanna walk down the bread aisle in five inch heels. Be normal! I love the fact that Rachel shows comfort can be cool!

Anemone Light
I’ve liked the Robert Abbey anemone light for a while now but wasn’t sure where it would fit in the house. I saw the images below and thought, hmmm, I could do the large one in the family room. It would be just perfect because we need something flush mounted so it won’t block the view of the television. The little ones could go in our long hallway. Currently we have three...

David Netto
I adore this mid century Neutra home designed by David Netto. I love everything about it, the front facade, gardening, all those gorgeous windows, the furniture, the outdoor furniture. The list can go on and on! My dream is to own a home like this and add my own design spin. Its crazy but maybe one day!! Totally tripping over this fantastic gallery wall Netto did for a Manhattan...

Happy Weekend!
Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary. We had a beautiful day that included massages, hiking and a filling dinner at Fogo de Chao. We have plans to extend the festivities into the weekend!

I need! I need!
As my nephew says, I need, I need these clogs. They have the perfect heel- the wedge makes it comfortable to wear all day and still gives you some height. I just saw them on Rachel Bilson on whowhatwear.com and they are available through Saks. Currently these Chloe shoes are $270 but fingers crossed they’ll go on sale. By the way, Barney’s ware house sale is coming up soon!

Benches
I know x-benches have been the rage for a while now but I’m really liking this new trend of straight legged benches. I think they look a bit more modern because of the linear legs. Or maybe it’s just that the x- bench has been everywhere and I’m pretty much sick of them! via Angie Hranowsky Design via unknown.

Renegade Craft Fair
On Saturday, James and I, dog in tow, made our way to the Renegade Craft Fair. They had some great booths but it was just so crowded. In some booths you couldn’t even step in because there were so many people. Surprising how many craft loving people there are! Here are some photos I was able to take. I’m still trying to overcome photo shyness. For some reason I feel like I’m...

The Urban Craft Center
Last night I took an Intro to Sewing class at The Urban Craft Center in Santa Monica. It was so fun! The class was taught by such a cool teacher and it was so informative. I’ve always been extremely intimidated by sewing machines- all the buttons and those darn bobbins! My mom bought me a sewing machine for my 16th birthday and I never once used it. After the class I feel confident in...

The weekend
I know it’s Tuesday and I’m a day off in posting about the weekend, but hey, it’s my blog I get to do what I want! On Sunday James (he doesn’t like to be referred to as hubby) and I woke up super early at 7am for the Long Beach flea market. After an ATM stop and a oh crap my oil is leaking check, we arrived safe and sound at 8:30. I had heard really good things about the...

The Ceiling
Often overlooked, the ceiling can be transformed into a focal point of a room. There are many different ways to do this. Right now I’m really loving the idea of a wallpaper ceiling. Here are some examples: If you have a larger budget, coffered ceilings always standout. And if you have a low budget, a coat of paint and a ceiling medallion can have dramatic results. I mean, how...

Possible Nighstands
UPDATE: So I ended buying it and hubby recommended I haggle so I got them for $30! Off to Home Depot to pick up some Martha Stewart paint and work on these today. Hope they turn out ok! So I just saw a pair of these at my local thrift shop. I think with a coat of glossy black or white paint, these could be awesome. Or maybe even a glossy gray? Guess how much- $40 for the pair. Insane!

Happy Friday!
Hubby and I just went on an evening walk and on our way back home came across this sign in front of someone’s house. This is what I love about Venice Beach- it’s hippy, artsy and sometimes odd residents. It’s a unique and amazing city. Have a great weekend!

Joel's Manhattan Townhouse for Sale
Billy and Katie Lee Joel recently divorced and I heard she had bought his share of their Manhattan townhouse. It has been featured in numerous magazines and blogs and was designed by one of my favorites, Nate Berkus. I guess Katie has decided to sell the townhouse, hopefully she’ll take along all the furnishings! The home is on the market for 12.9 million. Here are the pictures from the...

Lucite Coffee Table
I’m kinda lusting after a really cool lucite coffee table. I know I’m getting a little obsessed right? You don’t even know the half of it. I just ordered a lucite stapler from Amazon, loving it! Also got a lucite box from cb2. All small items though. I really want something large for the family room. I’ve got so much wood everywhere so I’d like to add another material...

Rita Konig
Former contributor to Domino magazine, Rita Konig has a great blog, “Inside Out”, at The New York Times Style Magazine online. With her great insight into the design world she takes us along as she decorates her new apartment. While dealing with obstacles in her space, she gives great tips and tricks on tackling design dilemmas. Here are some before and afters of her apartment. Go to T...

Ghost Chair
I just ordered a pair of these chairs for my office- so excited. My husband was nice enough to let me turn our second bedroom into an office for myself. Lately I’m in here all the time, I even watch TV on my computer! The space is very small, about 14’ x 12’ so I thought these chairs would be great, the clear lucite gives the appearance of taking up less space. The comfort factor...

Our trip to the Venice Canals
Well the Venice Beach canals. They are one of my favorite things about Venice. Hubby and I often take the dog there for a walk. We stare at all the houses and pick which one we’d want to live in. He likes a house that looks like a storybook castle. I tend to like the modern homes with roof top decks. I can just imagine myself canoeing in the canal one day, feeding baby ducks…. ...

New pillows
What a difference new pillows make on a sofa. Our previous pillows totally lacked color or visual interest. The new pillows (with Kelly Wearstler fabric) really pop. I just ordered 2 yards of another Wearstler fabric to make another set of pillows. Custom fabrics can be really expensive, especially for sofas, chairs or drapery. Yet they can still be incorporated into a room with dramatic results-...

Flowers
I went to the LA flowermart friday on my way to the Dwell event. It’s right around the corner so I figured, why not? I love flowers, adore them. An arrangement with all the same flowers, no problem, I got it. But today I tried to get creative and pretty much failed. I was dreaming of an arrangements like these: but ended up with an arrangement like this: Not nearly as...

White Blazer
I’ve been searching for a white blazer for what seems like forever. Some are too white, others are too beige, or not the right fabric. I’d sorta given up that the right one was out there, atleast on my limited budget. But then on a random walk through at Urban Outfitters I saw this and thought…Hmmmm…maybe this could work! They only had a size Medium which I thought for sure...

Summer Hair
As the weather gets hotter and hotter a girl has got to start considering cute ways to pull her hair back. I think my usual top knot is getting tired looking. Not only am I bored of it but I’m also getting sick of my husband constantly pulling my bun loose. He says looks like a target on top of my head. So in attempt to be more fashionable I think I’ll try some of these hairstyles. I...

Happy Friday!
The peacock I purchased from High Street Market just arrived! I love getting packages with lovely things inside. She started in the dining room but now I’m thinking atop the Tivoli is a nice little perch. Btw- the Tivoli was a gift from my in-laws, one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. I use it everyday- I listen to NPR while I work. The sound quality it so good. Have a great...

Yummy Rugs
I just can’t seem to get enough of rugs- as soon as I buy one I fancy another. As a Designer, I know how much a rug can make a room. It can pull together an otherwise random color scheme or act as a pop of needed color. It’s basically the back drop to the rest of the room. At most of the places I’ve worked, we spend a lot of time (and money) looking for the right rug. I was...

Commune Design
I’m not sure how I came across Commune Design but I had it bookmarked and realized their interiors would make for a great post. I have a bit of a migraine and looking at the computer screen is only making it worse. So with that quick introduction, enjoy their work.

Sotheby's Polaroid Auction
Sotheby’s is auctioning off over a thousand polaroids by such famous artists as Andy Warhol, Ansel Adams, Helmut Newton in “Photographs from Polaroid Collection”. I was surprised to see William Wegman as one of the photographers with work being auctioned. I wish I could own one- in comparison to some other polaroids that may go for $100,000, Wegman’s could be nabbed for the...

Happy Monday!
This weekend I went to the Rose Bowl flea market, which is one of my favorite things to do. Strolling through each aisle, I take my time and visit most all of the booths. Flea markets really are the best- not only can you find amazing things for cheap but it’s also the eco-friendly way to shop for your home. Buyer beware- it’s easy to want a lot because of the prices but be choosy. or...

Pink State of Mind
I’ve got pink on the mind. I’m not really sure why, maybe because the weather warmed up. I have been trying to add more color in the house and unintentionally everything leaned on the pink side. First I bought some pretty peony’s (Trader Joe’s has them for $6.99!) Then, on a run to Home Depot with the hubby I grabbed this. And nabbed this abstract art, shockingly...

I heart this kitchen
I love the cabinetry in this kitchen- the use of two colors and the bold choice to not have any upper cabinets. I think more and more we are seeing this. People value the extra light you get with more windows and the overall cleaner look of a kitchen sans upper cabinets. The only drawback is less storage. Check out the new Lonny for more pictures- which is probably one of the best issues yet! The...

These are vignettes from Antony Todd’s New York Store, so beautiful. Hi portfolio is just as amazing. I can’t wait for the day I can afford high end furniture and accessories!  There’s some interesting information regarding this map on his blog. Happy Monday!
Yesterday I spent the day with the cutest little guy in the whole wide world- my nephew. You may think I ‘m biased but really he is the most adorable and fun kid I ever met. Forget his looks for a second (although I think he could be a child model) but he’s so affectionate, funny and sometimes I can’t believe how well behaved. Miss him already!
